Bombay Presidency Golf Club wins inter-club golf caddies tourney

Mumbai, May 24 (UNI) Sports Welfare Foundation of Mumbai declared Bombay Presidency Golf Club as the winner of the Yes Bank Inter Club Golf Caddies Tournament held here.

The tournament was held in an attempt to motivate caddies toward self-improvement, giving them an opportunity to display their talents and encourages them to participate in the sport which otherwise would not be possible.

Teams from Western India's leading golf clubs had participated in the tournament. The Bombay Presidency Golf Club won the tournament with a score of 242 while the runners-up team United Services Club scored 242. The other participants were Pune Golf Club and Willingdon Sports Club.

Each team consisted of four caddies and the winning team members included Bapu Sahane, Bharat Kharat, Anil Mane and Ashok Chavan.

The winning team won a cash prize of Rs 20,000, the runners up Rs 10,000 while the other participating teams took home Rs 4,000 each.
