Bokai Sen passes away

Kolkata, Jan 31 (UNI) Former Indian goalkeeper Dhanadananda Sen, fondly called Bokai Sen, died this morning following protracted illness. He was 88.

He is survived by his wife and one daughter.

He was part of East Bengal's first IFA Shield winning team and again Mohun Bagan's second Shield Championship in 1947.

He made his debut with Kumartuli club, before moving on to East Bengal in 1939. He was with them till 1943. From 1944 till the end of his career he was with Mohun Bagan.

He also captained Mohun bagan and Bengal team.

Bokai Sen also played cricket and hockey for Mohun Bagan.

Mohun Bagan kept their club flag half mast today in respect of the departed player.
