Bob's murder is not related to match-fixing: Frans Cronje

London, Mar 31 (UNI) Frans Cronje, the brother of the late South Africa captain, Hansie Cronje, has expressed his disbelief over the fact that Bob Woolmer was harbouring any information about match-fixing, which led to his murder in Kingston 13 days ago. Frans, who remained in close contact with the late coach after Hansie's death, told the 'Times', ''We do not know at this stage about Bob's murder, but I don't think Bob knew anything more about the links to the gambling world. He certainly never indicated as much.'' ''Bob was busy writing his book and his main take on Hansie's case was that after seven years, there was nothing new left in the case to come out,'' he added.

Frans also revealed that his cricketer brother Hansie, whose career came to a halt after revelations of links with international bookmakers, always hoped that the welter of negative publicity which his case received would have ultimately eradicated match-fixing from the game.

Frans is producing a film about his late brother Hansie and in this regard last met Woolmer in Cape Town a week before the late Englishman left for Caribbean as coach of the Pakistan cricket team.
