B'lore's Surana College thrashes BHU side

New Delhi, Feb 11 (UNI) Surana College, Bangalore displayed brilliant stickwork upfront as they thrashed Faculty of Arts, BHU 8-2 at 14th SAIL-Nehru Champion Colleges hockey tournament here today.

Nithin Thimmaiah (33rd, 38th) and Balraj (54th, 67th) scored two goals apiece while Mohan Muthanna (17th), Bipin Bopaiah (60th) and C A Kalappa (61st) scored once after Pruthi opened the account for the winners in the sixth minute.

Alok Patel pulled two back for the Varanasi side in the second half.

Meanwhile in other matches, Nitin Maheshwari struck thrice as Rajasthan College defeated Kirori Mal College, Delhi 4-1 while Naveen Shekhar hit the solitary goal as Faculty of Arts and Education (Annamalainagar, TN) edged past DAV College Jalandhar 1-0.
