Bisht brothers set up title clash
Pune, May 31 (UNI) Delhi's Bisht brothers Ronit and Rohit set up a title clash in the boys section, while Goa's Natasha Palha will lock horns with Ahmedabad's Ankita Raina for the girls title in the ATF Asian Under 14 Series Tennis Tournament here.
In the semifinals played today, the elder of the Bisht brothers and second seed Rohit was given a fright in the first set by city's promising player Tushal Thawani but he bounced back to win the next two sets and register a 5-7, 6-1 ,6-3 win. His younger brother and under 12 national champion Ronit Bisht had an easy outing defeating Devpriya Jaiswal 6-2,6-2 and enter the finals.
Bisht brothers also put themselves in line for a double crown entering the Boys double finals, where they will take on Sai Teja Palladugu and Tushal Thawani tomorrow.
Fourth seeded Natasha Palha of Goa entered her first ever Internatioanl tennis event final recording a 6-4 6-4 win over Zainab Ali Sajjad to set up a clash with third seeded Ankita Raina of Gujarat. Raina who currently practices at PYC Gymkhana easily put out Vaidehi Bhagwat 6-2, 6-0.
Palha also put herself in line for a double crown entering the girls doubles finals with Namita Bal. The pair will take on Vaidehi Bhagwat and Pratharna Thombre for the title.
