Birmingham agree record 6 mln pound fee for Egypt's Mido
LONDON, July 20 (Reuters) Birmingham City have agreed a club-record 12.30 million dollars fee for Tottenham Hotspur striker Mido, the promoted Premier League club said today.
Birmingham had been linked with a loan move for the Egyptian international but instead pushed for a permanent deal, although this remains subject to the 24-year-old Mido agreeing personal terms, according to the Midlands club's Web site (www.bcfc.com).
Mido, the African Young Player of the Year for 2002, has played previously for Zamalek, Ghent, Ajax, Celta Vigo, Olympique Marseille and Roma in an itinerant career.
He scored five times in 23 appearances for Tottenham in the 2006/07 season.
