Big time golf returns to city with Crompton Greaves Open

Mumbai, Apr 27 (UNI) Big time golf makes a welcome return to the country's financial capital with the Crompton Greaves Open, featuring the biggest names in Indian golf and offering a purse of Rs 70 lakh, making it the richest professional golf event to be held in Western India.

The event will be held at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club from May 3 to 6 and also crowns 70 years of Crompton Greaves achievements, which the company is celebrating by getting back into the game.

The Crompton Greaves Open will be the most lucrative professional golf event in the country, offering Rs 11,34,000 to the winner, the highest winner's purse so far this year.

It is only the second such event in the country, along with the Rs 70 lakh BILT Open, which was held at the beginning of the 2006-07 PGTI season.
