Bhopal College, Varanasi side enter semis
New Delhi, Feb 14 (UNI) Jawaharlal Nehru PG College, Bhopal, and Faculty of Humanity and Social Sciences, MGKV, (Varanasi), stormed in the last four after registering big wins over their rivas in the quarter-final matches of the SAIL-Nehru Champion Colleges hockey tournament here today.
Akram Iqbal scored a brace as the Bhopal side crushed Surana College, Bangalore 5-0 in the second quarter-final here. Mazhar Kamal opened the account for winners with his sixth minute strike.
Osaf-ur-Rehman (8th) and Irfan Ali (17th) also sounded the board as the Bhopal team went ino the breather with a 3-0 lead.
Earlier in the first quarterfinal, Faculty of Humanity and Social Sciences struck at regular intervals to defeat Faculty of Arts and Education, Annamalainagar 3-0.
Harikesh Pratap Singh (15th), Ritesh Pratap Singh (28th) and Abhinav Rai (55th) scored for the winners.
