Bhavik becomes first Indian and Asian to row solo across Atlantic

New Delhi, June 13 (UNI) Indian Bhavik Gandhi has created the world record of being the first Indian as well as Asian to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 106 days.

Bhavik, who started his journey on his boat 'Miss Olive' from La Restinga in the Canary Islands reached Jabberwock Beach, Antigua, at 1745 hrs local time yesterday.

Following the famous route which Christopher Columbus took, Bhavik intended completing his journey in 90 days however due to unexpected problems that he faced, he completed his journey in 106 days.

Bhavik is now the 33rd person in the world to have rowed across any ocean. The Ocean Rowing Society would certify the world record.
