B'deshi fans throng on streets to celebrate victory over India

Dhaka, Mar 18 (UNI) Thousands of cricket fans breaking the silence of night streamed out on the streets in the capital to celebrate Bangladesh's stunning win against India in the World Cup in Trinidad.

Witnesses said hundreds of young people in different localities came out of their houses and took out impromptu processions shouting ''Bangladesh, Bangladesh''.

The students of Dhaka University assembled at the TSC square.

They chanted slogans cheering Bangladeshi cricketers. Many danced in circles with the beating of drums. Many brought out motorbike processions waving Bangladesh's national flags.

The authorities posted huge security personnel on the campus to maintain order.
