Bayern Munich fears Berbatov can destroy their Champions League dream

London, Apr 7 (ANI): Manchester United ace striker Dimitar Berbatov is the man Bayern Munich fear could destroy their Champions League dream tonight.

The 30 million pound Bulgarian will start up front for Manchester United.

Berba has not scored a single goal in Europe this season yet Bayern boss Louis van Gaal insisted: "I've always liked Berbatov. I wanted to buy him when I was the coach of Ajax and he was at Bayer Leverkusen."

"There are a lot of goals being conceded by United but they then score three and are through. They have the spirit to do this and Alex Ferguson has ensured this," The Sun quoted Van Gaal, as saying.

"We have already beaten Manchester United with Wayne Rooney anyway, so it does not matter to us whether he plays or not. And anyway we don't have to win the game, we only need a draw. But United are still the favourites to go through," he said.

Bayern midfielder Mark van Bommel said: "I was hoping Rooney would play. It's important for the Champions League that he plays in this competition. United are not just about Rooney. But he is a great player and if he doesn't play, then that's United's loss." (ANI)
