Bangladesh to get bonuses for World Cup wins
DHAKA, Feb 25 (Reuters) The Bangladesh cricket team are to receive bonuses for winning matches at the World Cup in the Caribbean, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said today.
''To spur the Bangladesh Cricket Team on in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, the Board announced incentive bonuses for the players,'' the BCB said in a statement.
''Accordingly, each player will receive an additional US 2000 dollars (on top of the usual win bonus) per match for winning a Group Stage game.'' ''If the team qualify for the Super Eight stage then each player will receive an additional US 00 (on top of the usual win bonus) for winning a game,'' the BCB added.
Bangladesh, playing in their third World Cup, are in Group B along with India, Sri Lanka and Bermuda.
Bangladesh beat Scotland and Pakistan in their first World Cup in 1999, but failed to win a match in 2003. The tournament starts next month.
