Badal gives nod to open sports wings in all Adarsh schools

Chandigarh, Feb 6 (PTI) Punjab Chief Minister ParkashSingh Badal today announced to set up sports wings dedicatedto Hockey, Football, Basketball and Athletics in all the 11Adarsh Schools run by the state School education Board (PSEB).

While presiding over a meeting with the Principals ofAdarsh Schools here, Badal directed the PSEB to releaseliberal grant for developing sports infrastructure in thenewly upcoming sports wings in these schools.

He asked the principals to prepare a comprehensive reportfor seeking funds and detailing the requisite infrastructureand the coaches who would be deployed either by the sportsdepartment or the National Institute of Sports, Patiala on therequest basis.

Referring to another demand raised by the principals,Chief Minister agreed to provide two buses to each school forthe transportation of the students from the nearby villages tothe schools.
