Atwal misses halfway cut at Stanford

Memphis, June 9 (UNI) Orlando-based Indian ace golfer Arjun Atwal carried his indifferent form for the second successive day to miss the cut in the second round of the Stanford St.Jude Championship here.

Tied 45th overnight, Atwal carded a woeful four-over 74 to miss out on weekend action after failing to make the cut, which was applied at five-over.

The lone Indian in the fray, Atwal, found the going tough as he failed to come up with a single birdie against a double bogey at the 2nd hole to go with two more bogeys on the 12th and 14th.

World number four, Australia's Adam Scott grabbed the sole lead with a superb four-under 66 for an aggregate of seven-under 133, after sharing the top spot with Swede Fredrik Jacobson in the opening round.

Jacobson, bidding for his first PGA Tour title after joining the circuit in 2003, slipped to the fourth spot after an even-par round.
