Atwal falters, drops to tied 55th at Travelers Championship

Cromwell, Connecticut, June 24 (UNI) Arjun Atwal struggled to find his putting touch and played a horrendous four-over 74 to drop to a poor tied 55th after the penulitmate round of the Travelers Golf Championship here.

Atwal, who had made the cut after missing out on five consecutive PGA Tour events, mixed three birdies with five bogeys and a double bogey in his eventful round.

After three days the Georgia-based pro totals three-over 213 and is whopping 14 strokes off the pace held by Jay Williamson of the United States who played three-under 67 round to maintain a stroke lead over Hunter Mahan (67).

Former World No one Vijay Singh of Fiji, who was tied 34th with Atwal after Round Two, made huge gains after his superb four-under 64 show that propelled him to a tied seveth spot with five-under aggregate.
