Assam Rifles rally cover 1600 km so far

Tezpur, Dec 19 (UNI) A motorcycle rally, organised by Assam Rifles (AR) and TVS Motor as a part of AR's Golden Jubilee celebrations has so far covered 1600 kms since its commencement on December 6.

The rally is being conducted by 22 adventurous teams of the defence wing and is sponsored by TVS Motor company Ltd.

AR sources said the team would cover more than 3500 kms touching the six capitals, 27 districts and 46 towns of North East on TVS Apache RTR.

The rally was flagged off from Sukhovi by DIG ARTC&S.

The team had so far crossed places like Kohima, Tseminyu, Wokha, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Lekhapani, Pungsau Pass, Jayrampur, Dibrugarh, Dinjan, Lekhabali, Itanagar.

Today they are at Tezpur.

The team consists of two officers, two JCOs and 18 other ranks from AR along with an expert technician from TVS Motors under the leadership of Capt Karthik P.

The journey would end at Sukhovi on Januray 3.
