Asians go 1-0 up with 34-run win over Africa

Bangalore, June 6 (UNI) A valiant knock of 130 runs from Shaun Pollock went in vain as Asians won the first match of the three-match Afro-Asia Cup by 34 runs at the flood-lit KSCA Stadium here tonight.

Chasing a stiff target of 318, the Africans were sent reeling by the Indo-Pak speed duo of Zaheer Khan and Mohammed Asif who reduced Africa to 31 for five in the eleventh over claiming two and three wickets respectively.
