Ashraful named Bangladesh skipper, Williams coach
Kolkata, Jun 3 (UNI) Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Mohammad Ashraful the Test and ODI captain up to the Twenty 20 World Cup in South Africa in September 2007.
The Board also named fast bowler Mashraffe Bin Mortaza Vice-Captain of both the Test and ODI teams for the same duration.
The BCB Executive Committee in a meeting yesterday also agreed that the Board's National Manager Game Development and A Team Coach Shaun Williams would be the Bangladesh Team Head Coach for the tour of Sri Lanka later this month.
National Pace Academy Head Coach Sarwar Imran will be Williams' assistant, a BCB release stated.
Ali Asif Khan will continue as Team Operations Manager for the Tour of Sri Lanka.
The Board has decided to raise the salary of contracted players of all grades by 20 percent.
It was also decided that the cricketers selected for the A Team would get 50 per cent of the match fees designated for a full international player. For the Bangladesh Under 19 Team players the match fee amount will be 25 percent of a full international cricketer.
