Arunachal karatekas to represent India


Itanagar, Sep 10: Two karatekas of the Arunachal Karate Assoiciation (AKA) have been selected to represent India in the Fifth World Karate Federation Junior and Cadet Karate Championship to be held at Istanbul from Octoben 19.

AKA general secretary Langkung Marik here today said that both the karatekas - Nobin Jamoh and Likha Rajen - had been selected by the All India Karate Do Federation at a selection camp held recently at Chennai, where six players from Arunachal participated.

While Jamoh would represent the under cadet below 80 kg, Rajen would represent the junior 18-20 65 kg categories respectively.

The AKA has appealed to the state government to provide sufficient funds for both the players so that they could bring laurels to the state as well as the nation.

The association also congratulated coach S D Sharma and its president Likha Tara for their determination and dedication in training players from the state who were placing Arunachal in the international sporting arena.
