Army bags first 3 positions in Gulmarg Ski Cup

Gulmarg, Feb 25 (UNI) The army bagged all three positions in the two-day Gulmarg Ski Cup 2007, which was jointly organised by Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department and Winter Games Federation of India (WGFI) here today.

Gupta Bahadur Gurung took first position in Men (Nordic) 15 km skiing which was held at Affarwat, last down hill ski point in Gulmarg, while the second position went to Toshi Lunduf followed by Vinod Kumar.

A total number of 21 skiers from different parts of the state and outside are taking part in the tournament and only ten skiers were qulify for the final.

Two Irani skiers from Iran also participated in the tournament.

The cup was technically supported by Winter Games Association of Jammu and Kashmir in association with the Jammu and Kashmir State Cable Car Corporation and Gulmarg Development Authority.

Divisional Commissioner (Kashmir) Basharat Ahmad was the chief guest of the function.

UNI
