Arjun Vishnuvardhan earns third IM norm
New Delhi, July 18 (UNI) Sixteen-year-old Arjun Vishnuvardhan of India has won his third international master norm after winning the title in the first Saturday International Master Chess championship in Budapest, Hungary.
The Kerala boy beat local International Master Petran Pal in the ninth and penultimate round to complete his third international norm in the tournament which ended today, according to information received here.
Vishnuvardhan had won his second IM norm after finishing joint runners-up in the World Open Chess Championship held in Philadelphia in USA early this month. He achieved his maiden IM norm in the first Saturday International Master Chess championship in May.
