AR distributes sports items to children in border areas

Imphal, Sep 6 (UNI) The troops of Assam Rifles (AR) distributed sports goods in the villages of Chandel district, bordering Myanmar.

They also distributed tarpaulin sheets in Moltuk village in the district, PRO, Assam Rifles here today said.

The sports items were distributed to improve the physical prowess and promote the principle of team work among the villagers,PRO added.

Heavy rains had wreaked havoc among the villagers, PRO said adding tarpaulin sheets will help them to fend off the rains and live comfortably.

The troops would also organize regular awareness campaign on drug menace in the district, PRO informed.
