Ankita, Dheeya in line for double crowns

Mumbai, May 18 (UNI) Ankita Sharma and Dheeya Somaiya set themselves up for double crowns as they stole the penultimate day's honours, in the Otters Million Open Squash Tournament 2007 at the Otters Club here today.

Sharma stormed into women's final as the second seed when she ended the giant-killing run of unseeded Swati Muchal 10-8, 7-9, 9-5, 9-4. Later, she advanced to the girls' under-15 final following an upset 9-4, 9-0, 9-4 win over No 2 Shria Khatri.

Sharma will take on top seed Dheeya Somaiya in the under-15 championship round following the latter's 9-5, 9-1, 9-3 demolition of No 4 Anju Sharma.

Somaiya also entered the girls' under-17 final where she set up a clash with third seed Shria Khatri.

Somaiya beat unseeded Urvashi Mishra 9-4, 9-4, 9-1, while Khatri accounted for second seed Rinki Soni 9-6, 9-7, 9-2.

Top seed in the boys under-13 and under-11 categories, Kush Kumar experienced mixed fortunes.

Kumar beat No 5 Aditya Khatri in straight games in the under-11, but crashed to fourth seed Deepak Kumar in the under-13 semi-finals.
