Anju gets last chance to qualify for World Championship
New Delhi, July 19 (UNI) Ace long jumper Anju Bobby George gets her last chance to qualify for the World Championship in Osaka, Japan, in the Asian Athletics Championships to be held in Jordanian capital of Amman from July 25 to 29.
Anju, who failed to cross the 6.60m mark required to qualify for next month's Japan event in the three legs of Asian Grand Prix and subsequent national combined events for jumpers and throwers, will lead a 41-member Indian contingent in Amman.
India won four gold, five silver and four bronze at the last edition of the championship at Incheon, South Korea.
The team leaves for Jordan on July 21.
