Anil and Narendrajit get top honours at Judo Championship

Kochi, Feb 15 (UNI) Anil Kumar of ITBP and Narendrejit of PSCB clinched the gold medals in the Men's 90 kg and 56 kg category respectively at the 28th Senior National Judo Championship, which began at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium here today.

In the 90 kg category for Men, Vikram Solanki of Delhi took the silver medal and the third place was shared between Jaswant Singh of Punjab and Satender Singh of SSCB.

While Mandan Lal of ITBP came second in the 56 kg for men, L Dinit Singh of Jharkhand and Rupa Chandra of SSCB took the bronze medals.

In the women's 44 kg category, Ranjit Kaur of CRPF overwhelmed Rajani of Haryana to take gold medal and the bronze medals went for Nippu Jamwal of J &K and Bidya Laxmi of Manipur.

C H Jinadevi of Manipur matted Laldoni Devi of UP to be top on the women's 70 kg category and Arti Sharma of CRPF and A Thoinu Devi of Jharkhand came third.
