Anand wins body building title

Thalassery, Apr 2 (UNI) Karnataka's S Anand won the title of Mr South Indian, T Arun Raj from Kerala won the best Poser and Janeev Varghese of Kerala won the Most Muscleman Awards in the 23rd South Indian Body BuildingChampionship held here last night at Municipal Stadium.

Kerala won the overall title with 110 points and Karntaka came second with 48 points. More than 100 participants from Hyderabad, Telungana, Goa, Pondichery, Karnathaka and Kerala (A and B team) units participated.

Former Mr Universe in 1952, 98-year-old Manohar Ike of Kolkata gave the trophies to the winners and also showed his muscles.

Results: 55 Kg: Noor Shahan (Kerala), Rajesh (Kerala), Raj Kumar (Karnataka).

60 Kg: Vikas(Kerala), Satheesh(Karnataka), M Inpesekhar (TN).

65 Kg: Hazarath Ali (Kar) S Subish (Ker), Vinod Kumar (TN).

70 Kg: T Arun Raj(Ker), M Niazudhin (Ker), Sindhu Deshmukh (Kar).

75 Kg: S Anand (Kar), Abdul Samad (Ker), Dina Dayalam (TN).

80 Kg: Nisanth (Ker), Sibin (Kerala), K Remesh(Kerala).

85 Kg: Janeev (Ker), Sinu Antony (Ker), Nishal Varma (TN).
