Anand to take on Morozevich in fifth round

Nice, France, Mar 20 (UNI) Refreshed after a day's break, World Champion Viswanathan Anand will take on Alexander Morozevich of Russia in the fifth round of the Amber Blindfold and Rapid Chess Tournament here.

Anand who was leading after the first three rounds, is placed fourth on the standings with 4.5 points after losing to Peter Leko of Hungary in the fourth round yesterday.

In the rapid section, Aronian is at the top with 3 points while Anand shares the joint second spot in this section on 2.5 points along with Topalov, Leko, and Ivanchuk.

In the blindfold section, Anand stands joint fifth with 2 points while Ivanchuk, Carlsen, Topalov and Vladimir Kramnik are in joint lead with 2.5 points each.

Anand will face a tough challenge against Morozevich who has defeated the Indian 0.5-1.5 in the previous two editions of this tournament.
