Amritraj downs top seed in Aptos Challenger

Aptos, California, Jul 17 (UNI) Indian Davis Cupper Prakash Amritraj started his campaign in the 75,000 dollar Aptos Challenger tennis tournament here with a bang, upsetting top seeded American Amer Delic in the opening round.

The in-form Prakash, outplayed the 143rd ranked Delic 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 yesterday.

The Indian, who had reached the semi-finals in last year's edition, will take on face American Phillip Simmonds in the second round.

Simmonds defeated Cecil Mamiit of the Philippines 6-3, 7-5 in the first round.
