All India Handball Tournament starts from July 27

Visakhapatnam, July 18 (UNI) The All India Flood-Lit Invitation Handball Tournament-2007 would be held in the city from July 27 to 29.

Talking to newspersons here today, Tournament Organising Secretary M Srinivas said the cash prize for the first three teams would be given by M Narasayamma Memorial Trust. The winner would recieve Rs 25,000, while the teams securing second and third places would receive Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000.

The teams from Indian Navy, Andhra Pradesh Police, Punjab, CISF, CRPF-Delhi, MEG-Bangalore, Signals Jabalpur, Air Force, Karnataka Police, Tamil Nadu Police, Orissa Police, Services Army-Hyderabad and Air Force had confirmed their participation.

Two teams would represent the State. Confirmation was awaited from three more teams.

The total expenditure was estimated at Rs 3.5 lakh, Mr Srinivas added.
