Air India to seek revenge against Mohun Bagan in NFL tie
Mumbai, May 2 (UNI) Air India, who lost to Mohun Bagan in Kolkata, will have revenge in their minds when they take on the Kolkata giants on their home grounds at the Cooperage in the 16th round tie of the National Football League here tomorrow.
Air India would seek to build on the momentum gained from their drawn encounter against holders Mahindra United and try to improve their standings in the table.
However, the Airmen will have to be rock solid in their approach, especially with their work at the back, as Bagan have shown impressive goal scoring form in recent matches.
Though out of title contention, both teams would be hoping to win their remaining three matches and finish in the top half of the ten-team league table headed by Goa's Dempo Sports Club.
There is little to separate the two teams. Bagan are currently in sixth position with 20 points from 15 matches while Air India, one rung below, have 19 from the same number of outings.
Air India could be handicapped by the absence of first choice goalkeeper Raju Ekka, who saved a penalty against Mahindra as he will be missing tomorrow's match due to a double booking.
The Mumbai outfit would be keeping their fingers crossed that replacement custodian Swarup Das would rise to the occasion.
