Agarkar looking at performing in first two ODIs against West Indies

Nasik, Jan 12 (UNI) Mumbai medium pacer Ajit Agarkar today said he was not looking too for ahead and was concentrating on performing in the first two ODIs against West Indies for which he had been picked rather than dream about making the World Cup squad.

Speaking to mediapersons after the third day's play in Ranji til against Maharastra, Agarkar said he was still not thinking of the World Cup, though, it was every player's dream to be in the national squad for the World Cup.

''I am concentrating on the present two games against the West Indies for which I have been selected. If I do well in these matches, then I might stand a better chance of making the World Cup squad,'' he said.

Agarkar, who had an injury worry in South Africa by hurting his ankle, said he was feeling fine and raring to go. ''Actually I was a bit apprenhensive in the first match I played against Gujarat.

But I came through that and over here also there has been no problem.'' On his batting, the Mumbai player said that nowadays it was always handy if the lower order batsmen also contribute with the bat.

''However, my primary job is to take wickets and if I don't do that then I would be dropped. I am giving attention to my batting but not at the cost of my bowling,'' he said.

Ajit Agarkar, however, added that though he was very happy at being picked in the Indian team, he was happier with the team's performance in the ongoing Ranji Trophy match against Maharashtra.
