Abhinav Bindra to get award in sports felicitation programme

Bhopal, Aug 24 (UNI) Ace shooter Abhinav Bindra, who won the first-ever individual Olympic gold medal for India at Beijing, will be honoured during a sports felicitation programme to be organised at Ravindra Bhavan here on August 29.

The Madhya Pradesh Government had announced to give a prize of Rs five lakh to Mr Bindra winning gold in the 10 metre Air Rifle event. Mr Bindra would be provided the prize amount on the occasion.

According to the Sports and Youth Welfare Directorate, during the programme, 10 Vikram awards, 11 Eklava awards, three Vishwamitra awards and one life-time achievement awards would be distributed to sportspersons and trainers from the state on the occasion.
