Abdul Qadir to lead Pak veterans against India
Lahore, Jan 29 (UNI) Abdul Qadir will lead a Pakistan veterans' side -- comprising former stars like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Rashid Latif -- against a Mohammad Azahruddin-led Indian team in a three-match ODI series starting next month.
The series, which will take place in India, is the third such face off between the two sides. The first tournament took place in 2005 in India followed by another last year in Pakistan.
'The News' reported that the other former stars who will find a place in the Pakistan team include Ijaz Ahmed, Aamir Sohail and Mushtaq Ahmed.
The probable Pakistan squad for the series: Abdul Qadir (captain), Shoaib Mohammad, Rashid Latif, Ijaz Ahmed, Aamir Sohail, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Mansoor Akhtar, Ashraf Ali, Arshad Khan, Mohsin Kamal, Akram Raza, Naved Anjum, Azam Khan, Amir Akhbar, Nadeem Abbasi, Amir Bashir, Aaqib Javed, Mushtaq Ahmed and Asif Mujtaba.
