80 countries confirm participation in World Military Games

Vijayawada, June 27 (UNI) About 80 countries have confirmed their participation in the IV Conseil International Do Sport Militaire(CISM) Military World Games, the second biggest sporting event, to be held at Hyderabad from October 14 to 21.

Informing this to the press here today, Lt Col Mukesh Hooda of the Kumaon Regiment said though 100 countries were expected to take part, confirmation was still awaited from the others.

About 6,000 players comprising men, women and athletes from military would participate in the event to be conducted for the first time in Asia.

The games would feature 16 disciplines with all Olympic events being played.

A majority of the events would be organised at Hyderabad at military venues, Lal Bahadur Stadium, Gachibowli Indoor Complex and the stadia at Yousfguda and Saroonagar. However, water sporting would be held at Mumbai, he said.
