48-member team for National Games from Arunachal

Itanagar, Feb 7 (UNI) A 48-member team from Arunachal Pradesh including 15 officials, left for Guwahati this morning to participate in the 33rd National Games, beginning February 9.

The state would participate in Karate, Taekwondo, Boxing,Archery, Rifle shooting and Athletics, according to Arunachal Olympic Association (AoA) Secretary General Michael Panging.

Arunachal Pradesh has not yet won any medals in the National Games. However, Panging exude confidence that the Karate team comprising of national and international level players would end this medal drought.

''We are expecting at least two gold medals and a silver medal in Karate and one silver medal each in Taekwondo and Archery'', Panging added.

The team's Chef-de-Mission is Tadar Appa.
