47th senior national gymnastics championship from Mar 10

Allahabad, Mar 8 (UNI) Hectic preparations are on to ensure smooth conduct of the 47th senior national gymnastics championship beginning March 10.

Thirty five teams, including 20 men and 15 women, will participate in the event, organising secretary Dr U K Mishra said while talking to reporters here today.

The selection of Uttar Pradesh men and women teams were done in the trials yesterday at Khel Gaon.

UP men team comprises Mayank Srivastava, Deepesh Sahu, Ashish Kumar, Vivek Mishra, Rohit Jaiswal and Abhay Chandra Mishra (all from Allahabad).

UP women team members are Juhi Sharma (Allahabad), Kavita Srivastava and Ati Priya Vishwakarma (Lucknow) Monika Yadav and Deepti Dube and Tandra Tripathi (Gorakhpur).

The championship would be held according to the new code of points adopted by International Gymnastics Federation, Switzerland.
