27-member UT wrestling team for Senior Nationals

Chandigarh, Nov 23 (UNI) A 27-member Chandigarh team, including six officials, will take part in the Senior National Wrestling Championship to be conducted in Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) from December 4 to 7.

The Chandigarh Wrestling Association general secretary Darshan Lal said that the team was chosen by a panel of selectors during the selection trials held at the Wrestling Coaching Centre in Sector 30 here.

Darshan Lal was hopeful that the Chandigarh wrestlers would bag at least 10 medals. The team, will leave for Ayodhya on December 1.

The team: Men (freestyle): Somebir (55 kg), Narinder (60 kg), Parveen (66 kg), Parveen (74 kg), Raj Singh (84 kg), Jasbir (96 kg), +96: Satinder. Men (Greco-Roman): Satyawan (55 kg), Sudhir (60 kg), Satish 966 kg), Amit (74 kg), Krishan (84 kg), Anilk (96 kg), Yudhvir (+96 kg).

Women (freestyle): Kanta (48 kg), Reenu (51 kg), Babli (55 kg), Manjit (69 kg), Sonia (63 kg), Nitu (67 kg), Priyanka (72 kg).

Officials: Surinder Singh, Nirmal Singh, Ajay Pathak, Ashu Pathak, Ashwani Sharma and Raj Singh.
