27 Indian judokas to participate in Asian Judo Championship

Patiala, Jun 23 (UNI) A strong Indian Judo contingent, comprising 27 Judokas (14 boys and 13 girls) will take part in Junior and Youth Asian Judo Championship slated for July 3, 4 and 5 in Yemen.

Judo Federation of India (JFI) today informed that the members of the contingent are, Youth (Boys): Balwinder (42 kg), S Chandra (4 kg), Amit Kumar (50 kg), J Singh (55 kg), Roman Singh (60 kg), Naresh Kumar (66 kg) and Dharminder (66 kg).

Youth (Girls): Neha (40 kg), Sushila (44 kg), Sandhya Devi (48 kg), Chauba Devi (52 kg) P Dhanda (57 kg) and Ichal Devi (63 kg).

Junior (Boys): Veer Bhan Hooda (55 kg), Veer Bahadur Thapa (60 kg), Manjit Nandal (66 kg), Kuldip (73 kg), Yaima Singh (81 kg), Rajinder (90 kg) and Bhim (100 kg).

Junior (Girls): Bidya Lakshmi (45 kg), Sangeeta (48 kg), Rohini Patil (52 kg), Kalpana Devi (57 kg), Garima Chowdhary (63 kg), S Bala (70 kg) and Sneha Tadyal (78 kg).

Along with the junior boys and girls, two women Judokas, who have qualified for Beijing Olympics, Tombi Devi (48 kg) and Divya (78 kg) are also training at the NIS here.
