27 countries for U-21 snooker tourney in Goa from August 22-31
Mumbai, July 25 (UNI) Young cueists from 27 countries will be seen in action in the World under-21 Snooker Tournament to be held in Goa from August 22-31.
This will be a combined event for boys and girls and each country can field three boys and a girl. India, as hosts, are to field two girl cueists, according to sources in the Billiards and Snooker Association of Maharashtra (BSAM).
The event is to be held at a resort in Bogmalo beach near the Goa airport.
The competition is expected to be keen as this junior world event is considered to be the stepping stone for entering the world professional circuit.
Meanwhile, a camp-cum-trials for the forthcoming IBSF World Snooker Championship will be held in Bangalore from August 6.
The World Championship is scheduled from September 4-14 at Singapore, BSAM sources added.
