Jones phones her dogs and they wag back

Sydney: American sprinter Marion Jones, bidding for five gold medals at the Olympics, rings her dogs every day and they wag their tails back.

Jones really misses her "babies" -- Izzi and Polly, a chow and a mastiff -- so she makes a daily phone call to her home in Raleigh, North Carolina.

A friend minding her house takes the call, puts the phone to each dog's ear and they wag their tails at the sound of their mistress's voice.

"They definitely know it is me," she told Australia's Channel Seven. She has now promised to wave to them at the end of each of her events.
