Oldest competitor wants to reach 100
Sydney: Virgin Islands shooter Bruce Meredith, billed as the oldest Olympic competitor in Sydney at the age of 63, puts it all down to never smoking, not touching coffee and doing a lot of gardening.
Now he has two ambitions left in life -- win an Olympic medal and live to be 100.
But he admits competition from Old Father Time will be tough in the 50-metre rifle prone. "Everyone's eyesight goes when they get older and I'm no different," he told the 'Sydney Morning Herald'.
"I have good genes and I've led a fairly healthy life. I've never smoked or drunk coffee. I might have one glass of wine a week and I do a lot of gardening."
