13 Indian Judokas to participate in IEJT

Patiala, June 22 (UNI) Thirteen Judokas from India (seven boys and six girls) would take part in International European Judo Tournament (IEJT) at Istanbul slated for June 29 to July 7, Judo Federation of India spokesman Mukesh Kumar said today.

NIS chief Judo coach J G Sharma, who is presently training the boys in Shilaroo (Shimla) and Satish Sharma, who is training the girls at the NIS here, will accompany the Judo contingent to Istanbul.

While talking to UNI, Mr Kumar said ''participation in IEJT would provide exposure as well as training to the Indian Judokas who are preparing for World Judo Championship to be held in Brazil in September this year''. ''We are expecting a couple of medals in Istanbul,'' Mr Kumar added.
