The upcoming season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is set to kick off later this year. Before the action begins, the excitement starts with the Season 11 PKL Player Auction.
During the landmark Season 10 auction, Pawan Sehrawat was picked by Telugu Titans for an impressive Rs 2.61 crore, making him the most expensive player in PKL history. Mohammadreza Chiyaneh followed as the second-highest pick by Puneri Paltan for Rs 2.35 crore. It is to be seen how much money the players can fetch in this auction.
PKL 2024 Auction Rules and Salary Purse
Each franchise has a total Salary Purse of Rs 5 Crore for their squad. However, this amount will vary based on player retentions, with a total of 88 players retained across teams.
The retention rules allowed teams to keep up to six players under the Elite Retained Players category. Additionally, franchises could retain players under Retained Young Players and New Existing Young Players categories. Each team also has three Final Bid Match (FBM) cards to buy back released players by matching the final bid.
Player Categories and Base Prices
The Season 11 Player Auction will categorise Domestic, Overseas, and New Young Players into four groups: A, B, C, and D. These categories are further divided into 'All-Rounders', 'Defenders', and 'Raiders'.
