BPCL to host inter-unit Kabaddi tournament in Goa from tomorrow

Panaji, Jan 3 (UNI) Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) will host the XIVth Inter Unit Kabaddi tournament, under the auspices of Sports Promotion Board (PSCB), at Pandit Jawarlal Nehru stadium Fatorda in South Goa from January 4 to 7.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, BPCL senior manager (PR) Hemant Kirolikar said 56 players from four companies -- BPCL, reigning champions Oil&Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Chennai Petroleum Corporation and Mangalore Refinary&Petrochemicals Ltd -- have confirmed their participation.

In the four-day meet, both national and international level players of past and present, viz Manpreet Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Vinay Vichare, Sanjay Wadar, Nir Gulia, Shailesh Sawant, Ashish Mhatre, Jitesh Joshi will be seen in action, he said.

Two matches will be played everyday from 1830 hrs to 2100 hrs and the finals will be played on January 7.

Mr S A Narayan, Director (HR) of BPCL will inaugurate the event tomorrow at 1700 hours.
