Ice hockey championship kicks off in Leh

Leh, Jammu and Kashmir, 12 Jan, 2008 : The mountainous region of Ladakh is possibly the country's highest ice-skating rink at 3483 meters above sea level. An Ice Hockey Championship has been organized in Leh to popularize the sport.

A total of seven teams are participating in the event. The District Youth Services Department and Ladakh Winter Sports Club have jointly organised the championship at the famous Karzoo ice hockey rink.
