Umpire Satinder for Asian Zone Olympic hockey qualifier

Chandigarh, May 22 (UNI) International Hockey Federation (FIH) Grade I umpire Satinder Kumar Sharma of Chandigarh has been appointed to officiate in the Asian Zone Olympic Qualifier to be played in Nairobi (Kenya) from July 14 to 22.

Satinder Sharma, an officer in the State Bank of India, has already supervised 82 international matched. He has already officiated in all major hockey tournaments, including Junior and Senior World Cups, Olympic Qualifiers, Olympic Games, Asian Games and Champions Trophy.

Satinder is the lone Indian umpire on the Elite Panel of FIH for the last three years.

The Chandigarh-based umpire made his debut as an international umpire when the FIH appointed him umpire for the four-nation tournament in Egypt in 2000.
