Star Pak hockey player undergoes surgery in city hospital
New Delhi, Jan 11 (UNI) Former Pakistan vice captain Mudassir Ali Khan underwent a crucial ligament surgery in a city hospital here hoping to be back on his feet soon.
The Chakwal-born right in, who made his international debut in 1999 and was part of the 2002 World Cup team, had torn his ligament during the Azlan Shah Cup in Kuala Lumpur last year.
Though he had originally planned to visit Spain or Germany, Mudassir, who has played both in the 2000 Sydney and 2004 Athens Olympics, landed in India and was successfully operated upon by Senior Orthopedic Consultant Dr RK Sharma, according to Apollo hospital authorities.
''He had been admitted in the hospital 12 days ago and yesterday's operation went well. He would be discharged within the next couple of days,'' a hospital spokeman informed.
