Format and Key Stages
Teams play round-robin within pools, with winners and the top two runners-up advancing to quarterfinals on December 4. The remaining sides contest 9-16th and 17-24th playoffs, leading to semifinals, finals, and classification matches through December 10. This knockout progression promises thrillers, spotlighting future stars for senior national duties.
On Day 1 of the tournament, defending champions Germany secured a big victory. The biggest of the day came from Belgium who thrashed Namibia 12-1. Hosts India also started in an emphatic fashion as the routed Chile 7-0 to wrap up the day.
