India overwhelms host team 4-1 in Champions' Challenge Hockey
Boom, Belgium, June 27 (UNI) Playing an inspired game, India overwhelmed host Belgium 4-1, for their second consecutive victory and stayed on the course for a place in the final of Champions' Challenge Hockey Tournament.
For India, who lead 3-1 at halftime, the scorers were Sandeep Singh (14th), Prabhajot Singh (19th), Shivender Singh (31st) and Dilip Tirkey (68th).
For Belgium, G Gucassoss reduced the margin in the 26th minute.
With this win yesterday, India has six points from three matches.
They now have to play Argentina and Japan.
India played according to the plan and capitalised on chances, converting the two penalty corners that came their way.
However, the team missed good chances that could have been used for its benefit to increase the tally.
