Amit Gowda to lead Mumbai under-18 for junior hockey nationals

Mumbai, Apr 10 (UNI) Amit Gowda has been chosen to lead the Mumbai under-18 team, which will participate in the under-18 junior national hockey championship to be held at Guntur in Andra Pradesh from April 14-22.

A release issued by the Bombay Hockey Association (BHA) stated that a 20-member team has been selected along with a coach and manager for the tourney.

The team: Goalkeepers: Sumit Darandale, Sudhir Dixit; Backs: Bushan Yashwant Rao, Peter Lasrado, Nilesh Bendre; Halves: Vishal Pillay, Nitin Kumar, Amit Gowda (c), leon Saores, Reuben Kedaria; Forwards: Shashikant Biarnja, Manpreet Singh, Ashish Bhosle, Victor Singh, Devinder Valmiki, Hardeep Singh, Rohan Mahatre, Anukool Bhardwaj, Raj Chougole, Pranav Mane.

Coach: M Chandrashekar, Manager: Gurcharan Singh.
